How to Request a Stop at a Specific Address on Public Transportation in Hillsborough County, FL

If you need to make a stop at a specific address on public transportation in Hillsborough County, FL, you can take advantage of the walk-in service available at designated HART stops.

HART

van services include HartFlex and HartPlus (Paratransit), both of which run on compressed natural gas (CNG). CNG is of American origin, is less expensive, cleaner and safer than vehicles that run on diesel. To book a reservation for either HartFlex or HartPlus services, you must call 813-254-HART (the HARTinfo line) or 813-626-9158 (TDD for people with hearing problems) during regular customer service hours.

Reservations must be made between two hours and three days before the trip. Alternative times will be suggested if the van is already reserved.

HartFlex

vans are now equipped with bicycle carriers and are fully accessible to people using wheelchairs or motorized scooters. All buses have public address systems to announce stops and illuminated signs to request a stop. Flamingo fares are NOT valid on the HartFlex service.

HartPlus

services are available only where HART bus routes operate and are based solely on the applicant's functional ability to use HART buses and not solely on their disability.

Information provided by a social services agency or other professional about the applicant's ability to use the bus may also be taken into account. This process takes just 21 days and all HartPlus services must be booked the day before the service is desired. Passengers who do not show up four times in a 30-day period will have their HartFlex reservation suspended for two weeks. These customers can continue to use the walk-in service when it becomes available. The driver will drop you off at any other designated HART stop along the route in the same direction. If you have any questions, please contact Customer Service.

The School Transportation Management Section provides leadership, assistance, and training to school districts and other customers to ensure safe and efficient transportation for Florida public school students.
